Where I’ve been:

Not that many places it would seem. But I am well-fed by the cultural experiences had outside my own country.

Must be summer…

We eat dinner outside more often, we play outside more often, and yes, we pee outside more often (its pretty rare to try the last in the winter anyway).

There have been visitors by the carload so far this summer and that’s been just fine by us. We were humbled and pleased by our friends the Johnson stopping by just a few days before Richard was to fly out to Afghanistan and sketch troops and hardware near Kandahar. He has been there a couple of weeks now and you can read his blog here. My father came for a couple of weeks in May and my mum is here now. We’ve also had good friends up visiting from Savannah, Georgia, my godmother Doreen from Orillia, Karen and Jeff (and their kids Timothy and Charlotte)…. Lots of people. Just they way we like it.

I see, in my mind’s eye, a house with a door that is never locked and a bed that’s always ready for anyone who might happen by. And I see us living in that house.

These were taken of the kids today (click on them to see larger versions and then use your browser’s back button to return here):

Oh lordy…

“What kind of drink are you?”

“You are a Juice Box. Some say you’re no fun, but you know better than to waste your time drinking. Not only does alcohol cut down on time better spent being productive, studies show it can have an adverse effect on your long-term health. You have plenty of friends, but you don’t get invited to the coolest parties. Sometimes you might wish you weren’t so different, but other times you consider yourself better than the rest.”
